Diagnosing Tennis Elbow
Tennis elbow often starts during physical activity, but symptoms can become constant over time. If you’re showing signs of tennis elbow, make sure to get care right away.
Signs & Symptoms
Symptoms of tennis elbow may include:
- Forearm pain
- Severe pain when straightening the elbow, wrist or fingers against resistance
- Tenderness at the outer elbow that may radiate down the arm
Diagnosis
In addition to a physical exam, we may use one or more of the following tests to diagnose tennis elbow:
- Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)—to create detailed images of the bones and soft tissues of the elbow.
- X-rays—to get a clear picture of your elbow.
