The Christ Hospital Physicians - Primary Care
Aleesha Montoya, MD is a board-certified physician with The Christ Hospital Physicians – Primary Care who specializes in Family Medicine. She provides care for patients of all ages at the Ft. Wright location.
Dr. Montoya was drawn to a career in medicine by a fascination with the mystery and growth of science, including knowledge of how the inter-workings of the body communicate and function.
She provides a judgement-free, patient-centered approach to care with a focus on achieving balance and improving quality of life. “Healthcare should be proactive, compassionate, and empowering,” she says.
That begins with treating the individual and meeting them where they are in their health journey in a partnership with the shared goal of creating a realistic, personalized plan for better health using evidence-based care. “I want you to feel heard, supported, and respected,” she says. She provides education to help her patients understand the impact of their choices so they work toward better long-term health for body and mind. “What you put into your health, is what you get out of it later,” she says.
Dr. Montoya earned a Bachelor of Arts in Biology with an Associates Degree in Sociology from Thomas More College, a Master of Science in Nutritional Sciences from the University of Cincinnati, and a Doctor of Medicine from St. George’s University School of Medicine. She completed a residency in Family Medicine with the St. Elizabeth Family Medicine Residency Program.
She is certified by the American Board of Family Medicine, and she is a member of the American Medical Association and the American Academy of Family Physicians.
In her free time, Dr. Montoya enjoys attending “extracurricular activities galore” with her husband and their three children, including cheering on Beechwood Tigers athletics and taking care of their four dogs. She also enjoys cheering on local sports teams, interior design, holiday décor, and coaching robotics teams. As an avid learner, she is currently learning to play chess and become a better cook.
As a parent of a hearing-impaired son, Dr. Montoya says her proudest achievement is serving as a sitting advisory board member for the Northern Kentucky chapter of Ohio Valley Voices - a state-funded non-profit program that facilitates early learning and development involving deaf children to teach them to speak. The organization’s new school recently started and is growing in Northern Kentucky.
