Signs & Symptoms
Common symptoms of knee bursitis or tendonitis include:
- Grating sensation with movement
- Limited range of motion
- Pain in or around the knee
- Redness and inflammation
- Swelling and tenderness
Diagnosis
Along with a physical exam and medical history, we may use one or more tests to diagnose knee tendonitis or bursitis, including:
- Aspiration—to remove fluid from around the knee.
- Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)—to examine the structures inside your knee.
- Ultrasonography—to create detailed pictures of your knee.
- X-rays—of the knee.
